Skeeter passed on Saturday, June 9, 2018, late in the evening. He was 79 years old. He was a loving father to his sons and a great friend to many. Always willing to help, he never said no to friend or family member in need.
He spent part of his career working in the coal mines for over thirty years, and his unceasing work ethic allowed him to pursue his passion of farming. His last memories of this earth will be of being surrounded by the ones he loved, the Cubs winning on that day, and the knowledge he was going to a better place.
He is survived by the love of his life, Pat Herrman, of Glasford, IL. He has two sons: Jim Herrman of Aledo, IL. and Chris Herrman of Normal, IL. His daughters-in-law are Cheryl (wife of Jim) and Kristine (wife of Chris). He has five grandchildren: Rachel Herrman, who resides in Aledo, while Madeline, Jack, Meridith, and Anneliese Herrman reside in Normal. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Smith, and brother-in-law, Edgar Smith, of Heyworth, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Susan and Frederick Herrman.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 13 at Davison Fulton Woolsey Pekin from 4:00-7:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Davison Fulton Woolsey Pekin on Thursday June 14, 2018 starting at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow held at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford, IL.
