

Born February 16, 1933 in Peoria to Maurice and Ida (Durflinger) Selburg, he married Velva (Colwell) Henninger on July 1, 1956 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2012 in Peoria. Also preceding him in death are his parents; three brothers, Theodore, Daniel and Maurice; two sisters, Lenora and Lucille and one great grandson, Carter Sipka on June 11, 2013.
Surviving are six daughters, Sharon (Paul) Leonard of Pekin, Carol (Bob) Mc Crary of Pekin, Paula Henninger of Pekin, Tina (Billy) Brownfield of Pekin, Donna (Mark) Pankey of Manito, Lisa (Ed) Sipka of Pekin; one son, Dale (Janet) Selburg, Jr. of Pekin; twelve grandchildren, Traci, Tera, Tonya, Amber, Amanda, Angie, Caleb, Jacob, Kyann, Joseph, Aaron and Brandon; fifteen great grandchildren, Maria, Cole, Cameron, Allyson, Ashleigh, Derek, Madison, Savannah, Aislynne, Gabriella, Arianna, David, Stephen, Kaelyn and Shea; and two brothers, Gerald Selburg of Peoria and Murton Selburg of Chillicothe.
Dale served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid during the Korean War era.
He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc., retiring in 1982 as an engineer in the heat treating department after 31 years
Dale enjoyed woodworking and creating different projects for his family, traveling, family gatherings and game nights with his family.

His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 21, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Utech will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private Burial of ashes will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
