Born November 23, 1951 in Bloomington to Ralph Benjamin and Lela Mae (Sieh) Egli, he married Vicki J. Huber on October 11, 1986 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Nathan (Tiffany) Egli of Spring Hill, Florida; one daughter, Krista Egli of East Peoria; seven grandchildren, Holly Goins, Tyler Goins, Curtis Egli, Derek Egli, Jeremy Egli, Ethan Egli and Toby Egli; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron (Darlene) Egli of Delavan and one sister, Mary Lou (Scott) Owen of Stanford. He also leaves his father-in-law, Roger Huber of Decatur; several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jennifer Goins on April 6, 2019; one brother, Larry Egli and one sister in infancy, Brenda Egli.
Dan last worked for Pekin Gun and Sporting Goods. He had previously worked and retired from Aventine in Pekin.
He enjoyed antique cars, motorcycles and shooting trap. He also was a hockey enthusiast and enjoyed watching and reading westerns. He was a member of the Illinois Valley Antique Car Club and the Canton Legion Riders. Dan also enjoyed playing dart ball with two church leagues.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin.
His memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Simeon D. Raddatz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
