As the founder of Deer Creek District Library, Darlene did important work for the community. She blessed Deer Creek with an institution of knowledge, respectful of all, regardless of financial resources. It was an honor to follow in her footsteps. Her family must be proud.

Darlene is my grandma. One of my favorite memories of her was the summer I spent in Texas with her. She was always such a stylish lady. We would get all dressed up every Sunday and go to church. Of course she would put about a gallon of perfume on and never let you crack the window. I smile when I think of that summer. Thank you grandma for all the happy memories. I ❤️ you

When I was a very young girl, we lived near Darlene, who was my aunt. I have very fond memories of her during those years. She was very kind to me and my sister.
