Darlene Joan Warden

Pekin ~ Darlene Warden, 93, of Pekin, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Timber Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care in Pekin. She was born on May 27, 1932, in Peoria, a daughter of Willie Purdy. Darlene married Virgil C. Warden on April 18, 1970, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2017, in Pekin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Moore; and brother, Junior Purdy.

Darlene is survived by her son, Ronald (Angela) Moore of Duncan, Arizona; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She retired after many years working for Caterpillar, Inc. in the finance department as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with her dog, Twiggy.

Darlene's graveside service will be at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. Services have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society.
