

Born January 14, 1939 in Harrisburg to Don Arthur and Elberta E. (Morgan) Keedy, he married Sandra Kay Fryman on August 20, 1967 in Pekin. She died June 3, 2024 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Howard Keedy, Neal Keedy, Don Keedy, Jr., Luke Keedy, Frank Keedy and Jack Keedy and three sisters, Mae Simpson, Violet Brown and Jeanette Lewis.
Surviving are one daughter, Tammi (Marty) Lyons of East Peoria; two sons, Matthew (Angel) Keedy of Forest, Virginia and Michael (Jennifer) Keedy of Tremont; ten grandchildren, Emma Keedy, Calli Lyons, Ada Keedy, Maddox Lyons, Ella Keedy, Lincoln Keedy, Jack Lyons, Judah Keedy, Evangeline Keedy and Ezra Keedy and four sisters-in-law, Cathy Keedy of Anna, Lila Keedy of Spring Valley, California, Lois Keedy of North Pekin and Carol Fryman of Pekin.
David served four years with distinction in the United States Air Force as a member of the “Hurricane Hunters” squadron.
David worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for more than 45 years, retiring in 2002 as a senior design engineer in the Track Type Tractor Division. He was proud to have had 3 patents in his name.
He had the gift of being able to repair most anything and enjoyed repairing, restoring and rebuilding cars.
He will be remembered as a generous man who was always willing to help a person in need and acknowledge those who were often overlooked. David enjoyed racing and was a fan of NASCAR.
David was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland. He volunteered faithfully as a bus mechanic for many years at both Cornerstone and at Faith Baptist Christian School in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jonathan Chadbourn will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
