David Duane Litz

He was born on September 11, 1956 in Pekin, a son of Robert and Louise (Fleckenstein) Litz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Litz, Jr.

David is survived by his aunts, Nedra Litz and Gloria Litz; uncle, Albert (JoAnna) Fleckenstein; several cousins; a nephew, Travis; and his special friend, Juhna Cruz.

David attended Southern Illinois University where he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the automotive and computer programming. Dave was also a certified Master Mechanic.

He was employed by several auto dealers in the area including Beres Motors in Pekin , S&K Chevrolet in Peoria, and he retired from Uftring Motor Group in East Peoria. At Uftring, he was the Computer Administrator.

He spent long hours playing World of Warcraft. He also built cartoon characters out of wood.

Dave's graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Dillon Cemetery in rural Tremont.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Pekin.
