Born March 18, 1952 in Peoria to Ward H. and Ethel P. (Uttenhove) Morse, he married Sandra Kay Cox on October 14, 1978 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Hanners of Pekin; one son, David (Ashley) Morse, Jr. of Lincoln; ten grandchildren, Karma J., Joshua, and Tyler Morse, Chance Crandell, Breeana and Brady Morse, Brianna and Sabrina Scott and Kayleanna and Braiden Hittle; four great-grandchildren, Joel, Paxton, Jaxon and Eli and two brothers, Terry (Mary) Morse of Quincy and Doug (Marie) Morse of Lafayette, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Bryan Morse.
Dave had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria as a machinist for 40-plus years and was a member of the UAW Local 974.
A jack-of-all-trades, Dave enjoyed working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson, working on houses and farming. His greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with his family.
Dave attended Days of Grace Fellowship in Morton.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Hall will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family request that social distancing and wearing of masks be respected. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
