

He was born on April 18, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois, to Clifton and Virginia (Cruise) McCoy. On March 29, 2005, he married Kathleen “Kathy” Ellen Mote in Pekin. She survives.
Dean, known affectionately as “Mac,” is also survived by his stepson, William (Michele) Bikai of Pekin; three grandsons, Brandon (Savana) Bikai, Ben (Rachel Brakebill) Bikai, and Gabriel (Savanna Crider) Bikai; and eight great-grandchildren, Dalton, Jalynn, Blake, Brayden, Eliza, Edin, Jaxson, and Eliana. He is further survived by one sister, Kim Jackson of Morton; and two brothers, Bob (Joann) McCoy of Spring Bay and Charlie McCoy of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Charles Jackson; two daughters, Michelle Renae and Dena Faye; and a grandson, Elijah Bikai, in 2017.
Mac proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union Local 627, beginning his career as a truck driver and retiring as Vice President of Local 627 at the remarkable age of 80.
He enjoyed golfing and camping, but nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held on January 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge 916 in Pekin, Illinois. Lunch will be served.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the South Side Mission of Peoria, Illinois.
