

Born March 25, 1952 in Fairbury to Melvin and Dorothy (Towler) Nagel, he married Kelley Smith on February 28, 1998 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Ellen (George) Mendez of Tomball, Texas, April Rocha of Pearl Land, Texas, Coy (Crystal) Nagel of Peoria Heights, Troy Nagel of East Peoria, Kristopher (Mandy) Lancaster of Peoria, and Brandon (Kaela) Smith of Pekin; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; seven siblings, Carol Bowdler of Mount Vernon, Raymond (Tammy) Nagel of Farmington, Mary Johns of Peoria Heights, Delores (Danny) Holt of East Peoria, Vickie (Brian) Wilson of Washington, Bobby Nagel and Jimmy Nagel, both of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Junior Murry and one granddaughter, Mary Ellen Rocha.
Delmar was a veteran of the United States Army.
He had worked at Cargill in Goodfield and later worked in construction with Slabjackers in East Peoria. He retired from Slabjackers but later worked part time at the YWCA in Pekin and Emma’s Eatery in Bartonville.
Delmar loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. He loved football and baseball and was a Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed doing yardwork and took pride in how his yard looked. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Paul McGrew will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
