

He was born to William and Betty (Morris) Brooks, on December 2, 1951, in Pekin. Denny graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1970 and worked until 1995 as an Ironworker out of Iron Worker’s Local 112 in East Peoria. Denny worked on many of the structures around the Tri-County area, and in the 1980’s worked on projects in Colorado and in Chicago.
He married Martha (Fischer) Brooks, the love of his life, on March 4th, 1972.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Laurie) Brooks of Carlock and Andrew (Carrie) Brooks of Geneseo; his grandchildren, Noah, Timothy (Caitlyn), Nathan (Reka), Abigail, and Isabella; one sister, Kathy (Michael) Hippler of Wataga and one brother, Joseph (Ruth) Brooks of St. Peters, Missouri.
Denny was preceded in death by parents and his wife, Martha of 43 years.
Denny was known for his love of gardening. Annually Denny would plant a large backyard garden, and he would supply neighbors and friends with a variety of vegetables throughout the growing season.
Denny was very handy and adept at wood-working projects and construction. Denny also enjoyed weekend camping trips to Fulton County Conservation and Recreation Area outside St. David, Illinois. While there, he enjoyed fishing and spending time in nature.
A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
