Dolores "Dee" Ioder

She was born August 22, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Inman and Opal (Mitchell) Douglas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Glenn K. Ioder who passed July of 2015, and one infant grandson, Evan James Myers.

Surviving are her sons, Doug, Sr. (Lana) Myers of Yorkville, Derek (Cami) Myers of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and David (Carolyn) Ioder of Chicago; her daughters, Melanie (David Earl) Riley of Pekin, Jeannie (George) Hulse of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Maureen (Dennis) Friese of Stockton, Missouri; grandchildren, Doug, Jr. (Alissa) Myers, Amy Myers (Marc Vargas), Trace and Vaughn Myers, Mason (Katherine) Riley-Anderson, Mitchell Riley, Arthur Ioder, Hanna, Jesse, and Josiah Hulse, Sarah (Dimitri) Kasarhis, Deanna (Chris) Croft and Gabe (Heather) Friese; great-grandchildren, Kai Myers, William Shaefer, Kiley O’Neil, Elliot Kasarhis, Grayson, Makenzie, and Ian Croft; great-great granddaughter, Abby Myers; brother, John (Marcia) Douglas of Kansas City, Missouri and several nephews, as well as many great and great-great nephews and nieces.

In addition to her family, she was surrounded and loved by a wide circle of friends locally and internationally. Many of her enduring friendships were cultivated through her faith and service at the First United Methodist Church of Pekin; the First United Methodist Church of Peoria; and the Tremont United Methodist Church. She and her husband also met and maintained countless friends from their very active missionary work throughout the world. They served together in Uruguay, New Zealand, England, Wales, Zambia, Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, Kosovo, Liberia, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Costa Rica, South Africa, and many other countries.

Dee shared her deep faith and talents through her love of teaching, as well. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and completed her teaching certificate at Illinois State University. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for nearly two decades. She taught kindergarten, first grade, and music to countless children in Dwight, Pekin, and Peoria school districts. She was a gifted organist and pianist and provided private lessons to all ages. She taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, bible study classes, and whenever possible would volunteer to teach in schools abroad. She also loved playing the organ and piano for church services, singing in church choirs, playing handbells, and accompanying band and choir students for concerts and annual music contests.

The significant difference she made, and the sharing of her devout faith, to so many people in her amazing lifetime is her legacy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff, especially Angie Tramel and Hallie Decapp, at Willow Ridge Hospice Care of Havana for the compassionate and loving care they provided to their mother.

Dee was a member of the Tremont United Methodist Church in Tremont, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. A meal will be held at the church following the service. A private inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery at a later date. Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin is assisting with the family with arrangements.
