Donald Lee Cullen

Born on December 21, 1936, in Limestone Township, a son of Albert Samuel and Edith Louise (Farley) Cullen. He married Barbara Allan Matthews on November 6, 1965, in Pekin. She survives.

Donald is also survived by four sons; Rev. Donald (Donna) Cullen Jr. of Flat Rock, Michigan, Jeffery A. (Kristi) Cullen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael A. (Judy) Cullen of Troy, Illinois; and Shane D. (Amy) Cullen of Peoria; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice Compassus for their excellent care and support during this difficult time.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Cullen; and two half-brothers; Clifford and Ivor Cullen.

Don was a portion-control meat cutter for George’s Wholesale Meats and the Lariat Club in Peoria for 30 plus years retiring in 1996. He also worked for various grocery stores in the Peoria and Chillicothe area.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Nelson will officiate the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
