

Born August 26, 1928 in Benton to William and Leona (Glenn) Fisher, he married Beverly Hedges on May 15, 1955 in Benton. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Deborah Fisher, Patricia (Terry) Allen, and Victoria Fisher, all of Pekin; one son, David Fisher of Pekin; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Jean) Fisher of Mt. Vernon and one sister, Betty West of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Anna Marie; one great-grandson; one sister, Ruby Taylor and one brother, Charles Fisher.
Don worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 40 years, retiring as a lubricator at the Mapleton plant in 1991.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin, where he played church softball for many years. He was in the Caterpillar Chorus for the play, Annie Get your Gun.
He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Dr. Timothy Najpaver will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
