Donald L Goodin

Born August 9, 1937 in Peoria to Harry and Opal (Batterton) Goodin, he married Sandra L. Meyers on October 28, 1956 in North Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Diana L. (John) Lesaganich of Peoria; one son, Tim (Deanna) Goodin of Mackinaw; three grandchildren, Nick (Bethany) Goodin of Peoria, Alexis Goodin and Samantha Goodin, both of Mackinaw; three great-grandchildren, Lily Goodin, Eli Goodin and Bella Goodin and one sister, Darlene (Dick) Reno of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rick Lee Goodin on July 5, 1986 in Peoria; two brothers, William Goodin and Gerald Goodin and three sisters, Judy Clark, Joyce Griffith and Shirley Zachman.

Don retired from Baumgartner Distributing as the warehouse supervisor with 37 years of service. He was a retired member of Teamsters & Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria. His retirement job was working with Midwest Central School District 191 as a school bus monitor.

He loved fishing and hunting and will be remembered as a great shot. He was devoted to his family and especially loved his grandchildren. In earlier years, he also enjoyed bowling.

His visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. No services are planned and cremation will be accorded.
