

Born September 1, 1925 in Bath to Orvie and Elsie (Lacelles) Myers, he married Betty (Zaayenga) Myers on December 1, 1948 in Pekin. She died December 1, 1993 in Peoria.
Surviving are one son, Donald Scott (Debbie) Myers of Island Lake; one daughter, Cindy (Richard) Liescheidt of Pekin; five grandchildren, Christopher (Tara) Cantrall of Waupun, Wisconsin, Jeffrey (Christina) Cantrall of Delaware, Ohio, Ryan Myers of Florida, Sheri (Chris) Allen of Tremont and Keith (Kim) Liescheidt of Normal; 9 great-grandchildren, Maria, Garrett, Colbi and Axel Cantrall, Dallas, Laina, Reese, Hagan, and Axel Allen and one sister, Beverly Beasley of Marquette Heights.
Don was also preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Jarrett; four brothers and one sister.
He worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 38 ½ years retiring in 1982. During his time at Keystone, he worked as an Electrician and later as a foreman in the electrical department.
Don enjoyed traveling, bowling and going dancing. He also enjoyed fishing in Minnesota. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was a former member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
His private graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor John Vaughn officiated. Arrangements were entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
