Donna Harriss

Born April 27, 1934 in Zeigler to Grundy and Laura (Watts) Huey, she married Samuel David Fraley 1956, they had four children together. She later married Fallon “Bud” Harriss on January 8, 1988. He died November 28, 2000 in Iowa. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Pat Rush.

Surviving are four children, Deborah (Joe) Macfarlane of Pekin, Dean (Brenda) Fraley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Diane (Scott) Zarley and Delene (Larry) Vaughn, both of Pekin; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Roxy (Kevin) Smith and Shelley (Jack) Gott, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four step-grandchildren; one sister, Bren Rush of Bentonville, Arkansas; one niece, Laura (Ian) McQuade of Bentonville, Arkansas and two great-nieces, Sloan and Larke McQuade.

Donna had worked at K & H Autobody in Iowa for 8 years before retiring in 1996. She had worked as a cashier at Pekin Hospital for 11 years.

An avid reader, Donna loved to crochet, especially baby blankets for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also thoroughly loved spending quality time with her family.

Donna became the church pianist at the age of 16 and played for many years and several churches. She also taught piano for many years.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor David Auxier will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
