Dorathea E Everett

She was born June 18, 1951 in Peoria to Robert D. and Hazel (Utsinger) Everett. Dee graduated from Peoria High School in 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judith Bremer and one brother, Daniel G. Everett.

Surviving are two nephews, Daniel N. (Samantha) Everett of Pekin and Robert M. (Brynn) Everett of Peoria; one niece, Devyn J. (Alexander) Everett of Peoria; four great nieces and nephews, Tenley, Easton, Vivienne and Theodore and two former sister-in-laws, Ruth M. (David) Brewer of Chillicothe and Sherry L. (Kerry) Mitchell of Edelstein and her beloved Sheltie, Bella.

Dee had worked for 40-plus years at various Kroger Stores as a set coordinator and spent the remainder of her career in receiving at the Morton store. She was also a union steward for the Morton store.

She enjoyed playing the card games of contract rummy, blitz/31 and tripoley, collecting Hallmark ornaments and hosting family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also had a fondness for ferrets throughout the years. Dee cherished the time she spent going with her nephew, Dan, on the annual Spoon River Drive.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A private service will follow.
