Dorothy I Drake

Born March 18, 1928 in Pekin to Edward and Stella (Risinger) Meints, she married Dale L. Drake on November 14, 1948 in Pekin. He died April 16, 2009 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her brother.

Surviving are one daughter, Leslie (Carl) Hauk of Pekin; one son, James (Julie) Drake of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Jarrod Cranwill of Pekin, Nolan Drake and Sagan Drake, both of Brimfield and great-grandson, Conner Cranwill of Pekin.

Dorothy was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Concordia Society. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, tennis and golf. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a kind, generous and compassionate lady and will be greatly missed.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
