

Born January 21, 1936 in Pekin to Herbert A. and Hazel I. (Williams) Marion, she married Lemuel Sutton in 1953. She later married Delbert W. Haynes in May 1958 in Pekin. He died in May 1973. She then married Gerald Hopkins in 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; one infant sister; and her son, John W. Haynes, who died in 1989 in Pekin.
Surviving are two sons, Darrel (Gina) Haynes of Goodfield and Rick (Gabriella) Sutton of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Kelly (Brad) Conover of Pekin, Deb (Pat) Landrith of North Pekin and Vickie Sutton of New Orleans, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Dorothy had worked as a hairdresser out of her home for several years. Most recently, she had worked as a bartender at the VFW in Pekin, retiring in 2002.
She was a past member of the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1232 Ladies Auxiliary.
An avid reader, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and knitting. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tony Darr will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
