Dorothy June Crawford

Born November 9, 1938 in Manito to Herbert H. and Mary H. (Vonderheide) Crawford, she married Frank H. Trewyn on February 18, 1961 in Peoria. He died January 31, 1975 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Herbert Dean Crawford and one sister, Linda D. Barnes.

Surviving are her mother of Pekin; two daughters, Tracy H. (Michael Auer) Redshaw and Kelly J. (Edward) Moeller, both of Pekin; two grandchildren, Megan M. Moeller and Thomas M. Redshaw, both of Pekin; one niece, Deborah (Michael) Somma of Anthem, Arizona and one nephew, Geoffrey Barnes of Arvada, Colorado. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Ronald Barnes of Arvada, Colorado.

June was a longtime dispatcher with TAZCOM, the Tazewell/Pekin Consolidated Communications Center. She later worked for Pekin Hospital as a secretary in the laboratory, retiring in 2002.

June treasured the time spent with her family. June also loved reading and enjoyed creating art. She was especially fond of her kitty cats.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Ken Yocum will officiate. A Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008at the funeral home. Burial of her cremated remains will follow services in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
