

Born October 23, 1951 in Highland to Clemence W. and Hazel (Freeman) Harris, he married Barbara Ann Zimmerman on February 2, 2000 in Champaign. She survives.
Also surviving are his father, Clemence W. Harris of Shelton, Washington; one daughter, Tammy Missey of Secor; one son, Jeremy W. Missey of Morton; four grandchildren, Jordan Dwyer of Secor, Autumn Missey of Paxton, Christian Missey and Connor Missey, both of Mahomet; one sister, Brenda Nevenhoven of Mt. Morris; and one brother, Larry (Karen) Harris of Tuyallup, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one daughter, Renee Dwyer.
Doug had been a member of the Eureka Church of the Nazarene.
He had worked as a Recreation Specialist for the Village of Rantoul for 25 years, retiring in 2007. He last worked part time for Snyder Village in Metamora.
Doug loved his wife, children and grandchildren immensely. He also dearly loved his church family. The family takes comfort knowing that he is resting peacefully with his heavenly Father.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eureka Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Mike Stipp will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In keeping with Doug's wishes, his body was donated to medical science. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin assisted the family with arrangements.
