

PEKIN ~ Edna Vienna Toel, 94, of 911 Jefferson Street, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2006at The Place on Prince in Pekin.Born July 7, 1912 in Pekin to William H. and Emma (Magness) Coriell, she married George William Toel on July 7, 1931 in Pekin. He died November 16, 1991 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son (Ronald Conrad Toel), and three brothers (Carl, Vern, and Earl Coriell).
Surviving are one son, Danny L. (Phyllis) Toel of Pekin; one daughter, Darlene L. Ball of Pekin; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Vienna had worked for J. C. Penny's and Hankins Jewelry Store, both in Pekin. In younger years, she waitressed in downtown Pekin.
She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin, and its women's fellowship and women of the church. She was a past Sunday school Superintendent and Deacon at the church. She also was a member of Kings Daughters. She was a former member and Sunday school teacher at First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin. She was a former volunteer at Pekin Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Jan C. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
