

Born September 30, 1937 in Pekin to Chester Earl and Edith Inez (Tomlinson) Cooper, he married Helgard Charlotta Novak in Germany. She preceded him in death in November, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one grandson.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Jacobs of Pekin; three sons, Randy Cooper of Rocky Face, GA, Michael Cooper and Christopher Cooper, both of Peoria; five grandchildren, and one brother, Donald G. Cooper of Pekin.
Mr. Cooper retired in 1976 as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army after twenty-one years of service. He was a member of the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1232 in Pekin and was a lifetime member of the George Maple AMVETS Post #235, also in Pekin. He loved traveling, racing, and anything to do with cars.
His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
