

Born July 9, 1935, in Peoria to Edward L. and Marie (Eden) Nau, he married Eleanor A. Frerichs on January 15, 1955, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randy (Melodee) Nau and Michael (Beth) Nau, both of Glasford; two daughters, Sheri (Michael) Verardo and Becky (Michael) McClintock, both of Glasford; 12 grandchildren, Jason (Kaci) Nau, Mallory (Riley) Strawn, Kayla (Adam) Miller, Torey (Corey) Walker, Moriah (Keith) Owens, Nick (Kelly) Verardo, Bret (Kody) Verardo, Trey (Jessica) Verardo, Talia (Corey) Hammon, Taylor (Dalton) Hanneman, Sydney (Dylan) Michel, Tanner (Dollie) McClintock; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Haste of Pekin; one brother-in-law, Roger Isbell and one sister-in-law, Jan Nau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Bill, and Chuck; sister, Rosemarie Isbell; sister-in-law, Linda Nau; and one grandson, Austin Nau.
Ed worked as a Director of Operations at United Facilities, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1992. After retirement, he enjoyed farming for many years.
He was an active member of Living Hope Community Church in Bartonville.
Ed loved spending time with his family, especially watching the kids and grandkids. He loved the outdoors and playing slow-pitch softball and other sports when he was young.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Reverend Jerry Trecek and Pastor Art Georges will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
