

Born January 10, 1953 in Mystic, Iowa to Thomas and Christine (Heaton) Margetich, she married the love of her life Bill “Moose” Martin January 10, 2015, after spending over 25 years together. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Christina (Josh) Lykins Thompson of Pekin; one son, Scott (Ashley) Lykins of Florida; one step daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Saker of Monticello, Indiana; several grandchildren; 2 granddaughters with whom she was able to spend significant time, Jaelyn Toms of Pekin and Ryleigh Lykins of Florida; one sister, Noreen Margetich of North Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tom and Dennis Margetich and one infant sister, Caroline Margetich.
Louise worked for many years in bookkeeping and finance for several companies in the area. She also worked as a district manager for Meyers’ Express Mart and oversaw the operation of several stores in her district.
She was involved in Peo/Taz Abate and was treasurer for several years. Louise was also active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and several other Veterans organizations for many years. In her free time she enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband and learned to ride one of her own.
Louise fiercely loved her children and grandchildren, who will never forget her strength and courage. The family would like to express a special thanks to family friend Bev Quinlan, for her help in caring for Louise, as well as Illinios Cancer Care, University of Chicago Medicine and Vitas Hospice.
A gathering celebrating Louise’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
