Eloid Edward Murphy Jr.

He was born March 29, 1948 in Lambert, Mississippi to Eloid Edward and Cleo (Martin) Murphy.

Surviving are his mother of Pekin; four daughters, Patti (Chris) Prechel of Plainfield, Jackie (Ronnie) Harris of Pekin, Angi Murphy-Moskos of Bartonville and Jamie Murphy of Green Valley; one son, Eloid Edward "Boe" Murphy, III of Pekin; eleven grandchildren; four sisters, Joan (Tom) Dunniway, Diane (Dan) Johnson, both of Pekin, Sue (David) Scott of Green Valley and Bev (Steve) Garls of Douglas, Wyoming and one brother, Gerald (Jeannie) Murphy of Garrett, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Ed was a painter with the Painter's Local #157 in Peoria for over 18 years.

He enjoyed life in his own way. He was an avid Harley motorcycle rider and loved his garden in the summer. He cherished the times he spent with his family, his grandchildren and his friends.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Timothy Collard will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
