

Born November 6, 1936 in Peoria to Edward and Erma (Baker) Hahn, he married Patricia Ann Moran on July 5, 1959 in Peoria. She died April 23, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Smith and Betty Frymire and his beloved dog, Jenny.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Eads of Pekin and Bonnie Hahn of Creve Coeur; one son, Daniel Hahn of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Jessica (Tanner) Wyman of East Peoria and Nicholas (Kenzi Damarin) Eads of East Peoria ; one great-granddaughter on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Emmerson was a veteran of the United State Navy.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 26 years retiring from management in 1998. He previously worked as a Police officer for the Peoria Police Department for 11 years, during that time; he worked on a K-9 unit with his dog, King, and also as sergeant for the department.
Emmerson was a handyman, he enjoyed building and woodworking projects. He loved the outdoors and camping in Hannibal, Missouri. He took great pride in his yard and took great care in its appearance. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
His graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
