

Born May 26, 1939 in Dillon to Richard and Vada I. (VanDyke) Juhl, she married Frank L. Fouts on December 16, 1954, he passed away September 1, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leona Juhl; one daughter-in-law, Marla Fouts; one infant son, David Lee; two brothers, Everett (Alice) Juhl and Lester (Barb) Juhl and her dear friend of over 60 years, Karen Lohnes.
Surviving are four sons, Frank R. Fouts, and Chris L. Fouts, both of Pekin, Rance (Sue) Fouts of Gibson City and David (Cindy) Fouts of Glasford; one “daughter,” her namesake, Lori Ester Lohnes (Wendy) Zac and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Ester was of the Protestant faith and attended the First Church of God in Pekin. She loved the Lord and enjoyed being around her boys and family.
She loved being around laughter, music, happy people, and always doing what she could to help others! She enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, scrapbooking, genealogy and decorating.
Ester worked as a caregiver for Davie's Square in Pekin for 17 years, retiring in 2003. There, she was credited with "Wearing many Different Hats" and being "Quite an Asset" of that facility. She loved each and every resident at Davies Square.
Her funeral will be at 11a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Dick Brennan will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin, following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
