CREVE COEUR ~ Ethel M. Brandt, 67, of 2601 W. Reservoir Road, Apt. #502, Peoria, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at her residence.She was born June 20, 1941 in Richland, Missouri to Warren and Bertie Mae (Harris) Diefendorf. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by one sister. Surviving are three sisters, Linda (Jerry) Kindred of Peoria, Barbara Serpette of Washington, and Carol (Bill) Adams of Creve Coeur; and six brothers, Edward Diefendorf and Kalvin (Marty-Jo) Ensor, both of Creve Coeur, John Allison of Peoria, Daniel (Marcia) Diefendorf of Peoria Heights, Kenneth (Anne) Ensor of Rome, and Karl (Cathy) Ensor of Farmington. Ethel was a waitress for many years, last working at Steak N Shake. She also was the former owner of the Garden Street Coffee Shop.Ethel was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church.She loved going to church and she loved shopping. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.Memorial contributions may be made to her church at 101 S. Thorncrest Avenue, Creve Coeur, IL 61610 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
