

MORTON ~ Eva M. Morgan, 94, of 204 Magnolia Avenue, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 7:40 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at her residence.Born December 29, 1914 to Elmer and Eva Lena (Brockman) Wells, she grew up in a family of nine brothers and sisters who she remained close to throughout her life. She also shared her growing up years with her very special Aunt Carrie and Uncle John Kern.Eva graduated from Williamsville High School in 1934 and worked for A.E. Staley in Decatur. She married her loving husband, Milford, on February 12, 1943 in New Haven, CT. He survives.Settling in Pekin in 1945, they raised three children who also survive, David (Linda) Morgan of Trinidad, TX, Linda (Robert) Wright of Toledo, OH and Ken (Denise) Morgan of Morton; six grandchildren, Dana (Jim) Ridner of Temperance, MI, Robyn (Jason) Klare of Newcastle, WA, Scott Morgan of Dallas, TX, Gregg (Veronica) Morgan of Austin, TX, Blake Morgan and Ian (Rachel) Morgan, both of Pekin and nine great-grandchildren.While living in Pekin, the Morgan's were members of the First United Methodist Church.Together, Eva and Milford enjoyed a life that included devotion to family, extensive travel within the United States and a pleasant retirement in Hot Springs, AR. The Morgan's returned to East Peoria in 1996 residing at Riverview Senior Living Community and then moving to Morton. Eva was a wonderful homemaker enjoying many hobbies that included sewing, knitting and gardening.She will be deeply missed by her loving husband and family.Her funeral will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, 640 North LaSalle, Chicago, IL 60654 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
