
She was born January 19, 1934 in Manito to George and Elva Mae (Beckenhorst) Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edith Fister, Leatha Sidell, and Leona Jackson; and six brothers, Ted Jackson, Manuel Jackson, George Jackson, Harold Jackson, Robert Jackson, and Orville Lee Jackson.
Surviving are one brother, Nelson Jackson of Pekin; one sister, Norma Thomas of Warrenton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Jean worked at Pekin Hospital in the housekeeping department for several years, retiring in 2000. Previously, she worked at the Tazewell County Nursing Home.
Jean was a kind and loving sister, aunt, and friend. She was one who didn’t put herself above others and enjoyed caring for family and friends.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
