She was born November 28, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee to Timothy and Freddie Mae (Holmes) Johnson.
Surviving are two sons, Leotis D. Bailey and Timothy K. Bailey, both from Peoria; five granddaughters, Desiree, Diamond, Danielle, Shu’Teona and Ty’Kiya Bailey; one grandson, Darnel Bailey; four sisters, Annie Bridges of South Bend, Indiana, Thelma Triplett of Chicago, Ira Bailey and Rosemary Coats, both of Peoria and two brothers, Larry (Meeca) Bailey of Flint, Michigan and James Edward Triplett of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and four sisters.
Florence had worked as a homecare aide in the area.
She loved playing cards and being around friends. She also had a passion for her community.
A gathering celebrating Florence’s life will be at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. There will be no services or visitation.
