

Born September 23, 1920 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Frank S. and Marie (Suda) Cihla, he married Doris B. Fleiter on October 23, 1944 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Virgil F. (Carol) Cihla of Pekin, Frank B. (Jan) Cihla of Columbus, Ohio, Gregory D. (Pam) Cihla and Dan T. (Ruth) Cihla, both of Atlanta, Georgia; six daughters, Virginia "Ginger" (Burl) Beavers of Saint Louis, Missouri, Julia A. (James) Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Marilyn Kay (Al) Ahl of Peoria, Jane E. (Jerry) Morris of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Theresa (Greg) Mackie and Amy B. (Joe) Proctor, both of Columbus, Ohio; thirty-one grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
Frank worked for the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. as a sales representative for 22 years at their Memphis, Tennessee office, retiring in 1985
He was a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.
Frank enjoyed playing dartball and cards, and golfing. He actively attended the Miller Center in Pekin.
His funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur. Father Attilio Morelli will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where a Christian service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and United States Navy.
