

Born May 2, 1924 in Vienna, Illinois to Floyd and Beulah (Gould) Cargill, he married Anna Grainger on November 6, 1947 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Paul (Mendi) Cargill of Pekin; one daughter, Pamela Scott of Mississippi; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Elkins of Buncombe, Illinois and Bea Anderson of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Jim Cargill.
Frank worked on the assembly line at Caterpillar, Inc., and then owned and operated Cargill Contracting. He later built and operated Safari Lanes in Morton for 13 years, retiring on July 7, 1976.
He was a member of St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in Green Valley.
Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. William Krueger, DCE will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the Tazewell Military Rites Team and the United States Coast Guard.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church, 13443 Townline Road, Green Valley, IL 61534.
