Fred Eugene Eertmoed

Pekin ~ Fred Eugene Eertmoed, 93, of Pekin, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Accolade Health Care of Peoria. He was the son of Fred I. Eertmoed (9 brothers and 4 sisters) and Florence Edith (Hull) Eertmoed (4 sisters and 5 brothers) and joined this world at 904 Catherine Street, Pekin, Illinois on January 1, 1933. Fred married Sally Marie Morehead in Ogden, Utah on May 31, 1955. They later confirmed their marriage vows for time and eternity in January 1956 in Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; parents; two infant brothers at childbirth; and his sister, Shirley Jean.

Fred is survived by his lifetime companion son, Fred R. (Song Hui) Eertmoed of Pekin; one daughter, Lesa; two step-granddaughters, Melody with partner, Matthew and Erin with husband, Johnny; and two great-granddaughters, Lu and Willa.

Fred enjoyed and loved his life with the Eertmoed-Von Beckman clan and the Hull family, especially Uncle Lou and a multitude of friends encountered during his lifetime.

A special note of thanks goes out to Doug Anderson and the members of First Church of God for their spiritual blessings.

A private graveside service will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin.
