

Born January 26, 1941 in Pekin to William Alexander and Anna W. (Pfanz) Eitenmiller, he married Cheryl Faye Shelton on August 3, 1960 in Peoria. She died October 30, 2017 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffery Thomas Eitenmiller and three brothers, Lewis Eitenmiller, Arthur Eitenmiller and George Eitenmiller.
Surviving are six children, Frederick “Fritz” (Melanie) Eitenmiller, Jr., Bradley Eitenmiller, both of Pekin, Curt (Gosia) Eitenmiller of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kimberly Eitenmiller, Jill (Michael) Velpel, both of Pekin and Dr. Cynthia (Kevin) Miller of New Zealand; twelve grandchildren, Jared (Bethany) Eitenmiller, Bryce Eitenmiller, Shelby Eitenmiller, Kelcie Eitenmiller, Autumn Eitenmiller, Lidia (Jacob) Disney, Jacob (Chelsie) Easley, Thomas Eitenmiller, Kyle Hintz, Michaela Velpel, Caroline Miller and Julia Miller; three great-grandchildren and one brother, Don (Marian Jean) Eitenmiller of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
His passion was livestock farming and showing hogs. He had successfully competed in county and state fairs and was known for his experience in genetics and helping teach farmers and veterinarians with artificial Insemination techniques. He also loved dogs.
He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2001 with 28 years of service and also had worked at Laidlaw Electric for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Heather Robertson will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
