Fredrick A "Bud" Teufel, Jr.

Born September 5, 1937 in Peoria to Fredrick A. and Lena (Maddox) Teufel, Sr., he married Agnes Remington on November 24, 1956 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Michaeline (Jim) Bush of Peoria; one son, Fredrick A. Teufel III of Peoria; one daughter-in-law, Terrie Teufel of Peoria; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Broadstone of Mission, TX and one brother, David (Jackie) Teufel of OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Scott Teufel on July 8, 2013 in Peoria; one daughter, Chellie McCarthy on February 2, 2015 in Peoria; two brothers and two sisters.

Bud had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the 1950’s. He then went to work for Cummins Diesel as a diesel mechanic until the company moved to Florida, from there he went to Continental Can until they moved out of Illinois. He was then self employed as a bookkeeper and tax preparer and he drove cars for Morton Auction until he retired in 2010.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bud was a people person who had a youthful innocence. He liked everyone he met and always found the good everybody.

According to Bud’s wishes, cremation will be accorded. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
