Gary Albert Bloom

He was born on February 6, 1957 in Peoria, a son of Albert and Jean (Roth) Bloom. Gary married Rebecca Strowmatt on December 16, 1978 in East Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (Patrick) Bloom – King of North Pekin; son, Nick Bloom of Bloomington; grandson, Garrett; two brothers, Ron Bloom of Washington and Kent (Jeni) Bloom of Sandwich; and one niece, Sheila Bloom.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

He worked at Komatsu in Peoria for 38 years as a Crane Operator, retiring in May of 2015.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, Duck’s Unlimited and Kennel Lake, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandson and family. Gary was a devoted father, grandpa and husband.

There are no services planned at this time. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
