Born May 21, 1952 in Peoria to Donald E. and Laura Jean (Altheiser) Burch, he married Jeane Marie Link on February 14, 1976. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2011. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Allen Burch.
Surviving are one son, Donald Burch of Pekin; two daughters, Shannon Burch of Pekin and Pam Burch of Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Marilyn) Burch of Georgia and Kevin Burch of Peoria; and one sister, Sharon (John) Garls of Pekin.
Gary enjoyed working as a firefighter in Marquette Heights and as an EMT for many area companies. He later worked as a truck driver for United Ready-Mix for several years.
Gary cherished the time spent with his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
