Gary C Cofer

Born September 30, 1946 in Springfield to Glen Joseph and Lois Ruth (Sagle) Cofer, he married Nickey Ward on February 26, 1965 in Pekin.

Surviving are his mother of Pekin; one son, Bret S. Cofer of Penfield, New York; one daughter, Jodi L. (Frank) Cestoni of Lakebay, Washington; five grandchildren, Devin S. Cofer, Inayah R. Cofer, Tristan S. Cofer, Rianna L. Cofer and Kylee R. Cofer and one sister, Sharon B. (Larry) Moreland of Pekin.

His father preceded him in death on February 25, 1996 in Pekin.

Gary worked for AmerenCILCO as a control room operator at the E.D. Edwards Power Station in Bartonville for 15 years until retiring. He previously worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville.

He was former a member of Williamsville United Methodist Church.

His graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday,March 21, 2009at Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2009at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. led by Rev. John R. Seed.
