Gary Lee Dick

PEKIN ~ Gary Lee Dick, 62, of Pekin, passed away at 5:28 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by his siblings and daughter, when he passed from this life into heaven at Carle Health Pekin Hospital in Pekin.

He was born February 20, 1963 in Joliet to William L. and Marilyn R. (Morris) Dick. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jana (Shewman) and his brother-in-law, Mike Horr.

Surviving are one daughter, Shauna Brookhouser of Salina, Kansas; two sons, Andrew (Ana) Mathews of Salina, Kansas and Daniel Mathews; six grandchildren, Joshua, Zane, Kinzee, Kieran, Michael and Genevieve; three brothers, Tom (Connie) Dick of Pekin, Robert (Eve) Dick of Laurel, Delaware and Steve Dick of Parrish, Florida and one sister, Carolyn Horr of Canton.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He had worked at Hawker Beechcraft in Salina, Kansas as a mechanic for 15 years. Gary spent the last year and half working at Walmart in Pekin.

Gary’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. His brother, Tom will be the eulogist. Military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force and Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
