Born August 7, 1968 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Harold Lynn and Diane (Cutbirth) Patterson, he married Susan J. Bess on January 22, 2016 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Tara Patterson, Keli Patterson and Niki Patterson, all of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Alyssa Roll of Columbia, Missouri; one granddaughter, Kali Patterson; his mother and stepfather who raised George, Diane and Larry Wilson of East Peoria; six sisters, Linda (Marty) Weller of Sunnyland, Terri (Mike) Frye of East Peoria, Angie Wilson of Morton, Jamie (Frank) Pruett of Washburn, Wendy (Ronald) March, Sr. of Phoenix, Arizona and Tricia (Leslie) Epperly of Orion; two brothers, Larry “JR” Wilson of Sicily, Italy and Kenny (Fatima) Wilson of California and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Harold Patterson; one brother, Mike Patterson and one nephew.
George had worked at Maui Jim Sunglasses in Peoria as Warehouse Manager for 12 years, retiring in 2021. He later went to work at Rivian in Bloomington as a Systems Team Member.
A loving and caring husband, dad, papa and son, George loved spoiling and delighting his wife and kids. He found extreme joy flying his drone, “Gunther”. He also enjoyed doing home projects, planning family get-togethers and was a grocery store sale enthusiast.
George attended Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria
His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria. Pastor Chad Manbeck will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday evening at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
