Born July 4, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to Paul Thomas and Rosa Lee (Bushart) Jarboe, she married Marvin “Red” Simpkins on July 28, 1964 in Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 14, 1995 in Pekin;and her parents.
Surviving are 1 son, Robin Simpkins of Pekin; 5 grandchildren, Zebulen, Zoee, Brandon, Christina, and Michael; 1 sister, Sheila (Ronald) Parmenter of Pekin; and 1 brother, Paul (Jacquelin) Jarboe of Woodinville, Washington.
Geraldine had worked for several area nursing homes, retiring in 1980 after 15 years as manager at Lake Manor in Pekin.
Her life revolved around her profession. She loved working with the people and the activities at the nursing home.
Her also enjoyed socializing with her many friends.
Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Private burial of her's and "Red"'s cremated remains will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
