Born March 25, 1939 in Petersburg to Paul and Goldie (Binger) Sprinkle, she married Charles Carroll on March 3, 1963 in Springfield. He Survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Todd (Michelle) Carroll of Hartsburg and Garrand (Tracie) Carroll of Manito; one daughter, Kimberlie (Shad) Burkiett of Bartonville; 12 grandchildren, Austin, Colin, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Spencer, Brianna, Dillon, Cadence, Lexi, Mallory, Riley and Gavin; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louella (Owen) Rugg of Springfield and Marilyn (Rich) Chapman of Springfield and one brother Ed (Pam) Sprinkle of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Carla Carroll in 1983.
Gloria spent 30 years as an RN at various hospitals, including Graham in Canton and OSF.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, knitting and crafty activities. She was a collector of bird figurines and birdhouses and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.
Gloria was an active member of the North Pekin Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She served as Vacation Bible School Director and played the piano and organ, while serving in the music ministry.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021 at North Pekin Church of the Nazarene. Her brother, Rev. Ed Sprinkle will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
