

Born March 31, 1949 in Pekin to Harry Louis and Juanita Ellen (Probyn) Bussell, he married Deborah Sue Loeffel on March 10, 1973 in Bartonville. Together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Todd Bussell of Marquette Heights; two grandchildren, Allison Bussell and Zach Bussell and two brothers, Jeffrey (Valerie) Bussell of North Carolina and Rodney (Jane) Bussell of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy Bussell; one granddaughter, Emily Bussell and his grandmother, Lois Probyn, who he was very close too.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 1st Battalion, 5th Calvary.
Greg worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years as a machinist, retiring in 2002. He was a retired member of UAW Local 974. Following his retirement from Caterpillar, Greg worked 10 years for Glasford Township.
He was passionate about sports and enjoyed go cart racing when he was in his 50s. He also loved boating and watching grandkids in sports and activities. Greg was a jack-of-all-trades and was gifted at building and repairing most anything. He was awesome at carpentry work.
He was of the Christian faith.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Brad Everett, his cousin, will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Military rites will follow the service and will be accorded by the United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Cremation has been accorded.
