

Born October 2, 1918 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Charles and Anna (Elvig) Wintersteen, she married William R. Perry on October 15, 1938 in Nashua, Iowa. He died April 5, 1972 in Peoria. She later married Harry Harold Huser on November 22, 1975 in Creve Coeur. He died March 5, 1996 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Ronald L. (Helen) Perry of Creve Coeur; three step-daughters, Judy (Don) Livingston of Glasford, Patricia L. Mason of Canton and Beverly A. Bloom of Washington; three grandchildren, Stephen T. (Ronda) Perry of Sunnyland, Renee E. Morgan of Creve Coeur and Rebekah L. Bernard of East Peoria; eleven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Gwen worked for the Peoria Loan Service for 30 years, until retiring.
She was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church, where she attended the Aim High Sunday School Class. She also was a part of the Helping Hands Ministry and Benevolence Ministry at the church.
Gwen enjoyed fishing in Florida during the winter months with her husband Harry on the St. John's River.
Gwen was known to be a good cook. She also enjoyed sewing, liked crafts and loved playing poker with her girlfriends.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
