Helen M Roberts

Born November 12, 1924 in Lincoln to Claude and Alleene Shufond (Jones) Pippenger, she married John G. Roberts on October 29, 1966 in Springfield, IL. John was her best friend and they were very close until his death on August 25, 2000 in Morton. She also was preceded in death by one sister.

Surviving are one son, Greg (Jinny) Gauger of Pekin; one step-son, John H. (Nancy) Roberts of Addison, TX; one step-daughter, Joan (Steve) Wilhelm of Pekin; two grandchildren, Shelly (Derek) Ready and Jeff (Sarah Mugge) Gauger, both of Maple Grove, MN and three great-grandchildren, Ethen Ready, Kenzie Ready and Aurora Gauger.

Helen had worked for Corn Products Company in Pekin as an executive secretary and for Bushel Roofing as an accounts receivable bookkeeper.

Family was important to Helen and interior design was her passion. She was proud of the homes that she had decorated while living in the Lake of the Ozarks, Bradenton, FL, Pekin and Morton. She loved music, flowers and enjoyed the changing of the seasons. She was very fond of her dogs.

She was a member of Morton United Methodist Church.

Private funeral services will be held at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, with the Rev. Lori Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554.
