

PEKIN ~ Hubert M. Kegley, 82, of 601 Caroline St., passed away at 3:07 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Pekin Hospital. Born April 21, 1928 in Lebanon, Virginia to Turner and Goldie (Hughes) Kegley, he married Margaret Daming on August 1, 1953 in Rockport, Indiana. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Vicki (Bill) Hart, Valerie (Vic) Bricka, Kimberly Miller and Angela (Tom) Williamson, all of Pekin; five sons, Anthony (Geri) Kegley, Patrick Kegley, Keith Kegley, Christopher (Beth) Kegley, all of Pekin and Kevin (Dawn) Kegley of Danvers; twenty-one grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty (Bill) Owen of Canton, North Carolina, Sue (Carter) Chafin of Lebanon, Virginia and Judy (Paul) Brooks of Castlewood, Virginia; and two brothers, James (Betty) Kegley of Lebanon, Virginia and Ed (Connie) Kegley of St. Paul, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and two grandsons.
Hubert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
He worked 35 years as a construction electrician in Kentucky, Virginia, Indiana and Illinois. He later worked for 10 years for Midwest Generation, retiring in 1991.
He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs baseball fan and loved fishing and taking walks.
His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2010at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Jim Pankiewicz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
