Born November 3, 1925 in Pekin, she was the last surviving of 12 children born to Hiram and M. Verna (Asbell) Coats. She married Marion Samuel Tuttle on December 16, 1944 in Peoria. He died January 5, 1991 in Peoria.
Ila was the mother of 3, a grandmother, a great grandmother, “Aunt Sis” to many nieces and nephews and a cousin to many others.
Her survivors include two sons, Ronald (Dianne) Tuttle of Chillicothe and Kenneth Tuttle of Bath. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Clark; six brothers and five sisters.
Ila was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
A graveside service will be at held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford. Rev. Dr. Gregory Coates will officiate. No visitation is planned.
